ignition switch replacement

According to the troubleshooting, no brakes, abs and brake light on, no instruments, easy, replace the ignition switch. NAPA says they have one for 16.95.

Is that correct?

It looks like the switch is mounted w/ security torx. Do you break the center pin w/ a punch? Any other tricks for installation?

Thanks,

Matt

What I do is use a Dremmel with a cutoff wheel to slot the security Torx bolts and then use a regualar flat blade screwdriver to remove them. Can always buy a set of security Torx drivers to remove the bolts.

When you say instruments dont work, I assume you mean OP, fuel and temp gauges dont work, but speedo and tach do, and that the brake pump and the gauges quit working at the same time.
