If you had $1000, what upgrades would you do?

I have a basically stock 88 TC.

The only things I've done:
Rick Gillis Boost control valve
Gutted upper
slightly ported lower
K&N filter

Tax season was king enough to bless me with a few bucks this year! I might be willing to spend about a grand of that on my TC and I was wondering what you guys would do next! THINK PERFORMANCE!! I love stereo systems and I also want my TC to look nice but it's still in pretty good shape as far as looks go and as for the stereo... not in this car. Headwork anyone? By the way, unless someone thinks that a T3 upgrade is absolutely the very best upgrade (worthy of being my only "next upgrade") lets leave that one out of the picture.

Talk to me!

First: bigger exhaust including the 3" DP
2nd: upgrade the turbo
3rd: if you got the money at least get a mild port on the head and port the exhaust manifold.

Is the single 3" exhaust from ATR worth it? It's mandrel bent SS but $395? There's got to be a better deal somewhere.

I think the complete system from them would end up being like $900!! There goes my money.

I think a 3" mandrel bent down pipe with a cut out, with a full 3" shop built exhaust.
Get a ported E-6(which I do [Image: biggrin.gif])
A good 190 or 255 pump
And upgrade a t-3 with a GN wheel

That should give you a nice boost in performance for about the $ you want to spend.

You will still need a cam for that "complete" head.

mods;
3" single exhaust
255lph in tank pump
Kirban adjustable fuel pressure regulator
gutted upper intake, ported lower
ported E6 exhaust manifold(ATR or custom header)
bigger turbo if money allows

How much power are you looking to get? The turbo will provide the biggest gains in power. The mmore air you push(force) through the engine the more power you will make. I guess that means porting, exhaust, bigger turbo and enough fuel to keep up.

current mods (13.809 at 98.48mph): ported & polished big valve head(1.89/1.59), ranger roller, gutted upper and ported lower intakes, t3/t4 turbo, MSD 6al, MSD Launch Control, K&N filter, Walboro 255 pump, Kirban adj. fuel reg., ATR header, full 3" exhaust with Dynomax Ultraflow muffler, Star stage III ceramic clutch, Tiny Avenger bleed valve, Weld Draglites with M/T ET Street 26x11.5/15

Winter 2001-2002 upgrades - powerstroke intercooler(mounted full size or it won't be going in), 65mm throttle body, 42lb. injectors, custom grind roller cam, big turbo, rear suspension upgrades
NO TC and NO headaches.
