I'm in my "fiddle around" mode. Sometimes my car idles wonderfully, other times there is a bit of roughness.
I started wondering if the roughness could be from the AC compressor, PS pump or alternator and I took those belts off (1 at a time) after the car was warmed up.
It actually removed some of the roughness when I took the AC belt off, then when I took the belt off of the Alternator and PS pump I expected nothing much different but I started getting an RPM drop of about 1 needle width every 5 or 10 seconds.
Put the belts back on and all was back to normal.
Any ideas about what would cause the RPM drop without the alternator belt installed?
