idle issue to set tps

I cant seem to set the tps, because my car dies when the IAC is unplugged. This happens even after the car warms up, which is the only way to set the tps. The car idles fine at 1,000rpm, but I would like to make sure the tps is set correctly but I cant because I cant get the car tp stay running when the IAC is unplugged.

I am leaning toward a vacuum leak, but want other ideas if there is a possible alternative solution.

Both the idle screw setting and the TPS setting govern idle speed. What's the voltage on through the TPS at warm idle? That being said, you could have a vacuum leak. You may have to set the screw in some to raise the idle speed enough to keep it running with the IAC disconnected.
