I did a compression test on my TC it has 287000Kms on it....and i beleive it has been sitting for as long as 8yrs or so...she runs nice and starts on first turn

my method

connected the tester...
turned engine over till i got max PSI reading (did it to all cylinders)

all cylinders were at 110-115 PSI each
If i turn the engine over a few revolutions its at around 85PSI for each one...

I turned it over on all the around 4times (4 stroke etc) and i got 110-115 so tell me if that number is any good

or if i did the test wrong...thx

nvm...i just read somethin about compression.....and i beleive 110-115 each for a 287 000km car is very good

ill do a warm test when the car can run... waitin on buying Pete's manifold

did you have the TB open ? i thought 110 was low but i cant remember what my tbird was at.

that comes out to about 163,065 miles. i have 190,000 miles and My compression numbers are around 145 psi. but if your not loosing oil and stuff i wouldnt worry about it.

Do it this way, with the engine warm.

110 to 115 is not real good, but if those are "cold" figures, they will go up some when the engine is warm.

If it hasn't run in awhile, those are probably decent numbers. There is most likely a layer of rust on the valve faces and valve seat allowing quite a bit of leakage. Once you run the engine awhile and knock all the rust/crud off the mating surfaces the compression should come up a significant amount.

As trashline said, be sure the throttle plate is wide open. If throttle plate is closed, compression pressures will read way low.
