I must say it is postive but negative.
its been since Aug 2001 since i blew a head gasket.
i bought a new motor, well used, 9?,??? mile son it. i put about 40,000 since june 2002.
i did a compresion check as to my runs liek ass on Saturday night.
here are the results
cyl. 1 30lbs [Image: eek.gif]
cyl. 2 33lbs [Image: eek.gif]
cyl. 3 125lbs [Image: frown.gif]
cyl. 4 135lbs [Image: frown.gif]

well i found my WOT stumble now, and i get to put my "mild" cam in it again.
a year and 5 month on a $100 used motor and literlay just dropign it in and not touching a thing on it is well, worth it!

i at least got brandi's neon apart tonight, sendign the head out tomorrow.
and things are settle, we made up, and well we wer eina shop for 5 hours alone today [Image: wink.gif]

I sure hope the shortblock is ok. As always, let me know if you need a hand getting it all back together and dialing everything in. The tempreture has been dropping pretty quickly lately, so an extra pair of hands might help get the work done in half the time. Good luck, brian.

Brian,
Glad you got the most important problem fixed and found the source of the other problem. Sorry to hear it's an HG, but it could be worse.

That really sucks... If you need a hand, let me know. By the way, I stopped by that place with the car & I might pick it up - unless you want it.

On a brighter note - I ordered the exhaust & it should be here within the week. When all the parts are here, I'll call the shop to schedule the install. Thanks again for the info on Friday.

Keep your spirts up man. Its bad that it happened, but better now than in the dead of winter with snow. If you need a head gasket, I got one a fel-pro you can have. Let me know.

I actually thought it was rather amusing. sweet justice ya know. He gets pissed at me and his car gets mad at him. Guess we know who the car likes better. or since both of our cars have the same problem we could just say they wanted to be as close as brian and I are.
