It shouldnt hit more than 15psi stock. I would check out the lines to the wastegate, the wastegate itself, as well as install a gillis. You shouldnt ignore the real problem.

And on top of that, You are going to end up replacing the turbo after one too many of those "In the Red" moments. The IHI is only efficiant to about 18lbs, anything over that and you are going to heat air, and damage the seals. If you are in truth overboosting, and the Waste Gate isnt getting a boost signal telling it to open, the boost will just keep going up and up until POP! You just fragged your turbo. Changing you Fuel pump isnt going to make it okay to overboost. Fix that problem before you really have a lot of money comming out of your wallet. Then worry about the mods.
All hail Project "Marauder" !

i was overboosting, the boost gauge would go to 18 psi so i checked the stock bcs. the harness that plugs in to the bcs came un plugged on my car and the vaccum lines were pretty cracked. replcaced the lines and plugged the harness back in and everything is back to normal.

I had the same problem. And don't trust your stock boost gauge. Mine also goes up to 18+ but only pushes 15psi. The problem with my car was when I would get on it...it would make alot of noise but wouldn't go anywhere. It turns out that the stock solid tappet cam is worn and tapping a bit and was setting off the knock sensor. I disconnected the knock sensor and I got a ton of power back.

When you say gillis, do you mean a boost control vavle ?
Bone stock except for CAI, Hurst Shifter and a Walbro 255 fuel pump. Gillis 2 stage on the way !

yes, the gillis replaces the stock BCS. Many people run it and are very happy with it, including myself.

"Boost control solenoid" generally refers to the factory boost control device which is electrically activated. "Boost control valve" generally refers to an aftermarket, non-electric, boost control device that is adjustable for the psi setting. These are conventions we use and they may or may not be used by other groups.

Well I think I figured the problem out. I pulled my intercooler off and there it was, a vaccum line from the bcs to the turbo was so dry rotted it had a tear in it right above the fitting. So when I was trying to get the line off the bcs it just came apart(the bcs). Luckily my Dad has a parts car behind the house. Also the big hose that runs from the VAM to the turbo was coming off at the turbo. Don't know if that would have been part of my problem or not. One more thing, what does it mean when there's oil in that big hose, the one between the turbo and VAM ?

Oil in the hose from the VAM to the turbo is normal, pools of it are not. It probably came from the breather. Make sure there is no oil in the IC or in the turbo and in the throttle bodie. If its dry you should be good.
