well the bird has been running pretty good lately so i decided to get on it, and as soon as i hit second, i seen the lights. well i discretely put on my seatbelt, he said i was doing 50 in a 25, which in other words means wreckless op? i guess. well he gave me 3 tickets, wreckless op, speeding ,and seatbelt, i argued that i had my seatbelt on, and he just got pissed and ripped it up.then i asked how do you figure i was driving wreckless. he said if you go so far over the limit, its a wreckless op.i have never heard of this, has anyone else ever heard of it. its a bunch of bullshit if you ask me..... sorry needed to vent

Here in California at least, twice over the speed limit (or more) is considered reckless driving and they can impound your car if they feel like it. Be happy you got out of the seat belt ticket.

In Maryland, twenty or more over the limit, at the discretion of the officer, results in an additional "reckless driving" ticket. Knock on wood.....

I'd always thought that here in 'bama 25 over was automatically considered reckless driving, but my now cop buddy claims it's up to the discretion of the cop.

it is the descretion of the cop, basically every ticket is.
my friend got pulled over for going 70 in a 45 zone and the cop put him down as going 55 because he was being the designated driver. [Image: smile.gif] here in cali 25 over the speed limit is reckless driving. thats big $$$ and points on your license.

Gotta pick your play places more carefully, sorry about your bad luck. Sucks...

I downshifted and rolled out on a cop who was riding my bumper once at night. Crown Vic headlites look a lot like Mustang lites sometimes, so I broke out shifting down from 4th to 3rd and left him sittin still. He waited till I hit about 80 (in a 40) and here come the discojammers. I got a warning...

Sorry about the ticket,
but it always could've been worse.

Sorry to hear about your luck. Why would you drive without a seat belt? 11 years ago my wife would have lost her life if it wasn't for the air bag since she wasn't wearing her seat belt and my oldest son still lives since his was on. You can be pulled over and ticketed for a seat belt in Ohio, they don't have to have any other reason.

No offence toanyone living in ohio, but Ohio sucks to drive in if your from kentucky. You can be doing the speed limit and touch the shite or yellow line and you can be pulled over for reckless driving. I happened to my dad in a Geo metro. Here in kentucky its 15 over. I was lucky one night, I was doing 40 in a 25 in a patch of fog and the headlights on the cop car behind me looked like an old cavalier. He pulled me over just to make sure I wasnt drunk. His reason was that I swerved across the center line in an s-curve.
