Has anybody successfully done a manual HVAC panel conversion?
I have the auto HVAC panel and its such a PITA to deal with. I fixed my A/C up before summer and it got me by but I had to redo my settings half the time. Now that I'm needing my heater, I get no heat at all just cool air.
The engine runs at a solid 180-185 deg, air blows when set to 90 but its not hot and the air redirection is hit and miss. Ideally I'd like to go with a manual panel or am I stuck with an auto panel unless I pull the whole dash?

You’ll need to replace the heater box assembly to the cable operated system as the ETAC system uses servo type devices to control the functions. Changing the in dash control to the slider system needs the matching heater box and to remove this you need to get the dash moved out of the way. It’s a big job time wise, but if you’re handy, it’s not an undaunting task.
If you tackle this, get yourself a new Ford heater core before you start.

Very interesting, I'd love to do the swap but it would be too time consuming for me at the moment. I think I'll try to troubleshoot this one for now and see where I'm at
I believe my hvac panel might be bad
If/when I do the conversion, I'd like to also swap to a better condition dash

If you need the EATC panel, I have good working ones of those too. I actually have a crack free dash except for one very small spot next to the drivers side speaker about half the size of your little finger nail or less. I don't think I would dare to try to ship it though. The finish on these things is very fragile.
