Purchased January 21, 2004. 163,000 and drove 1300 miles home. Sweet 88TC with all the options. Alt is not original, ball joints. I am the third owner.

Just rolled over 132,000 two days ago. Bought the car 2 weeks ago, have had it tagged for 3 days. I think I'm gonna need a tranny, pretty sure the synchros are shot in 1,2,3 and 5th gears. So I try to stay in 4th. [Image: smile.gif]

IwannaSC. Try changing trans fluid first (2.6 quarts of Dexron II or III) Also check for proper fluid level in the hydraulic clutch system or leakage at the master and slave cylinders. Best way to do an over all check is to measure the amount the rod from the slave cylinder to the clutch fork moves when the clutch pedal is pushed down all the way.
Minimum movement should be 0.53 inch.

Turned 250,000 miles over the Holidays. I ordered it new in 88. Drivetrain-wise, block/bottom end, turbo, 5-spd, and rearend original. Clutch replaced around 177,000. I rebuilt the head with Racer Walsh/SVO roller cam/valves/springs... around 192,000.
Former owner of 88 Silver T/C, loaded (except leather & A/T), original owner, 294,815 miles!!!
K&N, Gillis(18 psi), SVO roller #1, big SS valves, ported intake, head, & exhaust.
Short block & turbo original/untouched, spec-II/III clutch combo.
Polyurethane bushings throughout, Goodyear GT-HR 235/55R16
