I have about 1000 miles on my brown tops and PC1 swap in my 84. I had the injectors cleaned by Cruzin Performance prior to the swap. Three are matched and the odd one out I put in cyl #4. The car runs stronger than ever and chirps the tires in 2nd when I don't think it did before, it has stock exhaust, no IC, 10 psi, rebuilt engine.
The injectors are LOUD. They tick loudly, almost sounds like a knock, but you can only hear it with the hood open. You can feel a solid thud-thud-thud in the FPR or fuel rail, and nothing in the intake manifold, head, or block. Is this normal?

My experience is they tend get louder with age. Remember that they all fire at once. It can sound like a knock.

Yeah it isn't a concerning sound, but it does resemble a tick or light knock. Just wondering since it seems so much louder after going from greens to browns, and the browns I put in were serviced first.

I had mine cleaned recently and noticed tonight that I can hear them with hood open , standing by the fender. I'm not too worried. Atleast you know they're working.
1988 turbo tbird, 5spd, 140k, all stock except boost control valve.

I bought new injectors a few years ago, when I put the new engine in the 'bird. One of them started ticking within a week and has ever since. No effect on performance whatsoever.

Tom, I understand they are wired and fire in pairs but they still are fired together unless I misunderstood the following sources. My answer, above, is predicated on the info that I put in this post many years ago.

Yes, injectors are fired in pairs, but simultaneously, twice each crank revolution.

OK Pete but Alan Slocum or not I can't see how they would all fire at once... That would mean at least one cylinder is coming up on exhaust stroke and would be pushing raw fuel out the exhaust... That will not happen in a two & two arrangement...
Till I'm proved wrong, I'm standing on two firing every 180*...

More than one at a time explains why it might be louder relative to other FI cars.
