Want to buy new or near new 88 TC hood insulation pad. I found a copy pad on ebay without the stamped Thunderbird emblem. I know there is one floating around out there somewhere. Thank you.

sorry but that guy on Ebay died about 6 or 8 years ago now from cancer. There is another company out there who has insulators for I think $70 they are plain but I bought one and it fits really nice. I can't remember the name of the company. I do think it was on ebay. Tomorrow I will look in my tbird file and get the name

^^^^^ Same here. It has been on the car for at least 10 years and has held up well.
I bet the chances of finding an OEM one are near zero, but if you so find one, I bet the price wil be WAAAAAAYYY up there.

1988 T/C Silver with red interior, fully loaded except for leather. 5 lug conversion with 97 Cobra wheels, Cobra 13" brakes up front, Mustang brakes out back, Koni adjustable shocks and struts, NOS Koni lowering springs . Maximum Motorsports control arms and caster/camber plates, subframe connectors.
SOLD September 2020. Will miss this car after 19 years of building/driving/showing....time for a new chapter in my life.

There are 2 vendors on ebay that are selling TC hood insulation, which is the better of the 2? One is $85 and the other $70. Thanks for any input!

I found the padding on ebay which went in fine for $70, but has gone up to $99
Just type in: FORD THUNDERBIRD TURBO HOOD INSULATION and you'll get it.

for $5.99 for a whole box.

The vendor of the one I bought on eBay a month ago was sold out but now has more. They are ~ $70 with shipping. Fit well, just missing one fastener hole which was easy enough to poke through a new one. It did take about 6 weeks to arrive as they are drop shipped I believe.

If you are looking for the correct pad with the embossed thunderbird logo, good luck. They are made of unobtainum. If you can find one, expect to spend LOTS of $$$$$.
I bought mine on Ebay probably 10 years ago for a reasonable price, around $50 if I remember correctly. It fit perfectly.
