I had to laugh a little but this really worked. Couldn't find a momentary push button handy and can't afford the fancy real remote push start.
Spare parts for the win.

long wire a couple alligator clips and a fox mustang wiper switch. Just used the washer function for my momentary switch. Worked really good.

once upon a time I was a space shuttle engineer and always thought it was classic backyard engineering the way the nose gear was stowed for launch.
One guy pushed the wheel up into the gear well with a long stick, and two more used 48" floor mops to close the gear doors while guy #1 pulled his stick out.
If only they would have let us take pictures!

Weight savings: why add the weight and complexity of wheel retracts when they're not really necessary?
Isn't the rule of thumb that every 1 pound of extra weight requires 100 pounds of fuel to get to orbit?
