high idle, eventually missing

So since I've had this car it has always wanted to idle about 1300 rpms. Not too long ago I thought I had a injector leaking causing me to foul plugs. I checked and cleaned injectors and everything is good there.
It has been just a few weeks or so since I changed plugs dizzy cap rotor button and went with motorcraft this time. Now it is wanting to miss after first being started. I know its only going to get worse and I'd hate to keep just throwing plugs in it, I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it to miss like this but I'm at a loss.

Have you pulled the codes? How about plug wires? What brand?

get some motorcraft wires, wc-4017 I think is the part #

WR4011C is the correct part 3 for Motorcraft plug wires. $18 a set at Rockauto.

Everything is motorcraft, no, haven't pulled codes yet. I will try to do that today.
