I have an 87Turbo Coupe...

The car has been riding really rough lately.
For instance, I would step on the gas and pretty much go nowhere. It would idle high and go back down, it would do this when I would be sitting at a light... This morning my car would start but as soon as I took my foot of the pedal it would die down.. My engine light was coming on then off every few minutes as well.

I replaced the Spark Plugs,Fuel filter not too long ago..

Any suggestions would help.

Thanks.

Check all the connections along the intake systems. It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. Check the inter cooler hoses and the hose from the VAM to the compressor inlet.

I think Pete is right. Any problem with the intercooler hoses or vacuum lines would cause the problem you're describing. It's VERY common with TCs
'88 Thunderbird TC, daily headache with a few mods, 14.65 and still not happy Smile

'86 Mustang GT, daily transport, fresh 302, Twisted Wedge heads, Track Heat intake, custom cam, all the associated goodies, 4.10s, hoping for mid 12s n/a

Start looking. Check the hoses for cuts and holes. then make sure you get them back on correctly and clamped tight. You mentioned changing plugs recently, which means you had the I/C off. It is real easy to fold the lips of the I/C hoses in on themselves which will create a vacuum or boost leak. This is especially easy with the bottom hose from the compressor outlet to the bottom of the intercooler, and it is very hard to see that it has happened. Make sure the clamps are properly positioned and tight.

I hope thats it because I can't fix much on my car.. I don't want to take it to a shop and get ripped off.
