My 88 Turbo Coupe has fire to each plug, all four injectors are spraying, fuel rail holds about 38 psi all the time, timing is dead on the money. Computer is good, all grounds are good. The only code it pops up is code 72, power interrupt detected. I really need help on this one. Thankls. I would really love to see it fly again.....

Here's some ideas. I may not even be close, but maybe I'll be lucky.

I assume that the engine is turning over, it is just not running?

By timing is dead on, did you check both camshaft and ignition timing? That is, with the camshaft mark aligned, is the crankshaft at TDC and the rotor in the distributor pointing at or close to the number one plug wire?

The connector to the TFI is connected, and there aren't any wires that are shorted?

Is there power getting to the coil?

My TFI/PIP just went bad and didn't throw any codes. I don't understand it, but replacing them fixed the problem. That is an expensive one to fix, so you want to eliminate everything else before throwing those parts at it.

The timing is dead on, with the crank, cam, and rotor button. The TFI module checked out good. The engine turns over and over, but it just wont crank. Each cylinder had about 70 or so psi compression. I think if I can't get it running, I'll just sell it and get me another one, or use this one as a parts car. Thanks.

What were your exact compression numbers? 70 psi seems too low. As I recall, 120 - 150 is the range you should have.

I agree will the conclusion that 70psi is too low to fire a cylinder. The low compression may be due to washing down the cylinder walls with fuel. This happens when an engine doesn't fire and the fuel keeps entering the combustion chamber. To counter the effects of the wash down you'll have to get some oil back on the cylinder walls. This will raise the compression and the engine should start. So squirt some oil down each hole like as if you were doing a wet compression test.
You haven't mentioned how this problem started or if the fuel is fresh. Try starting fluid to eliminate the possibility of weak fuel. Also I've seen head gaskets blow between the cylinders and cause no starts.

Found my problem. It was a blown head gasket. I tore the head off today and it had a blown spot between 1 and 2 cylinders and no gasket between 3 and 4. Thanks to all of you for your ideas. Ill love to hear it running again in a day or two. Ladon Wallace.
