(This is my first post on any forum so please bear with me)
I need help with my carpet in my 87 T-C its dark blue and I want to change it to black.
I have completely gutted the inside and have dyed the plastics, dash board and ECT. With Dupli-color vinyl & fabric/carpet coating it works great for the vinyl and leather but it sucks at coating the carpet on the door panels I used 2 cans on one panel and it still needs more not to mention it makes the carpet crusty and it looks like road kill was used in the upholstery job. I also need to know about the headliner too. The other thing is I want to put some type of protecting coating over the stuff I have dyed black. my brother in law told me about something called ?perma plex? It’s a coating that seals everything up and makes the dash not crack, its like a permanent armorall the only thing you do is wipe it with a wet rag and it shines back up. I know SEM makes several different clear coats for there color coatings but its $15.00 a can vs. $7.00 for the other stuff that’s works the same as the SEM coat. I’m trying to go with a satin black them so I don’t want the permanent protection glossy if at all possible. Thanks for any input, JBD
