Okay as some know I was going home a week ago and then I heard a pop and the car died and no power at all. I found it was the fusible link running to the starter solonoid on the fender where the + battery cable mounts blew. I replaced it right there with another and as soon as I tried starting it I saw white smoke than had a small fire where the new fusible link was spliced to the old. I had the car towed home and I cut the fusible link box off (little black box that joins 2 yellow and 1 red wire into the fusible link that mounts to the solonoid). And I used a butt connector and put all 3 wires in one end and a new fusible link in the other end (nobody sells the little box that joined the 3 wires into 1)and started the car and it idled fine/reved fine. I drove it for about 3 minutes than popped the new link (melted the new link casing and burnt the link in half). I figured it was because I didnt have the little fusible link box so I got a fused holder and a 35amp fuse and used it instead of the fusible link. It lasted about 4 minutes of driving before it popped a fuse. Replaced it and it blew after 1 minute. Replaced it again to get it home without a tow truck (died down the street at the bottom of a huge hill). Where do these 3 wires run and what could be doing this since I am going insane and hate electrical work. Also I am really mad because Fun FORD Day was today [Image: frown.gif] and I was supposed to go. I have new battery cables, ignition switch, battery, and thats about it as far as elctrical stuff I have replaced. I am going insane without my car please help. BTW sorry for the long post but wanted to give as much info as possible.

Screw-rice,

The 35 amp inline fuse thing doesn't work. The fusible link is more comparable to a 50 amp super fuse. This problem will require gobs of patience. Read the e-mail I sent you and try the Posi-Lock connectors from NAPA.

Will do, do I still use a fusible link and a posi-lock connector? I couldn't find any 50amp fuses unfortunatly. Will the fusible link (14 gauge) work? I have burnt 3 of them now so I want to make sure I stop throwing money away.
