help:brake faliure

well, shortly after both my parking and antilock lights came on, I noticed that the brakes didn't work at all. 30 MPH with full brake pedal took about 6 secto slow down, and it didn't feel like the pedal moved. under the hood while running, I hear a very small pressure leak that wasnt there 3 days ago.? any help??

Did you spring a leak in a brake line or hose? Do you hear the high pressure brake pump run? Could the "leak" you think you hear be the pump running constantly?

The red BRAKE light comes on for several reasons. It comes on if the parking brake is on, and it also comes on if the pressure in the accumulator is below a minimum value.

hmm my ABS light stays on and my Brake light comes on for a few seconds when I start the car. My barkes are pretty rough but they work, I know the rotors need to be turned.

It is normal for the red BRAKE light to come on for a few seconds after start up as the pump builds pressure in the system, especially if the car has sat for a while. If the ABS light is on, the ABS is disabled due to a fault, but the brakes will work normally, but you wont have ABS. Most common ABS problem is a bad wheel sensor. You can get fault codes out of the ABS computer to troubleshoot the ABS.
