Before I attempt to replace the heater core next spring per instructions, has anybody tried to use this stuff called stop leak by Bar's? If so, does anybody recommend using this stuff? Should I be concerned with the turbo charger with this stop leak? I am dealing with a very minor pin hole leak, leaks enough to smell the anti-freeze in the car a little, but not enough of a leak to see it dripping anywhere. I will only smell the anti-freeze when I start the car after the engine is warm. She's not dead yet, just trying to milk it a little more before taking the plunge on replacement. Thank you

Bars does work, it's been around for decades. The problem is it might plug up more than just the leak, like other passages, especially it they are already having deposits building up, ie. in the radiator or the heater core. It may not do anything harmful in your case. As Dirty Harry asked:"Do you feel lucky punk, do you?"
Or you could by pass the heater core but I'm betting that isn't your first choice heading into a New York winter. You could park it for the winter but I'm wondering if this is your DD, in which case your have already answered the about question. If you are driving a TC in a NY winter, you do feel lucky!

LOL! Thanks Pete for the info. I don't drive it during the winter, but generally drive it up to the first snow fall, then garage it. I do need a little heat to get me through the cold, yet beautiful days and the heat does work very well. I had thought about bypassing the core during the summer, but then she would have to be put down much sooner than now. It's hard to put her down for the winter, but I know it's the best thing to do. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
