Im going to flush my heater core, and i was wondering which way it flows. If im standing on the passengerside, the tube closest to me is the least hot so im assuming it geoes in the other one first.

It doesnt matter which hose goes where...the coolant still goes where it needs to. It would be best to flush the heater core both ways...

It flows from hottest to less hot. You want to back flush it, ie put the water in on the less hot side so it (hopefully) loosens and forces trapped stuff out the hottest side.

I use distilled water only in my car. I always found it to keep the system cleaner.

My first post Smile

Vinnie, I do the same thing.
In San Antonio TX the water is a capital H Hard!

Started doing this when I saw first hand how tap water practically disintegrated the aluminium head on a Toyota.

Nothing but distilled goes into my vehicles.

Gentleman that is correct. Detroit diesel will not honor any warranty claims if tap watter is introduced into their engines. Also the mix ratio is important. It must be correct. Normally 50/50 is the norm but it can go as high as 70% in colder climates if necessary. Remember antifreeze must be mixed. Its a catalyst. What i normally use is Fleet Charge coolant that is PRE MIXED.(100,000 mile stuff its blue in color) Premixed antifreeze is another way to go. Today their are at least a dozen anti freeze formulas for different cars and trucks. They cant be mixed and like the gentelman so correctly posted will destroy an engine like the problem Toyota experianced. Antifreeze is not antifreeze. They differ quite differently. Hope this helped a little and have a good morning gentlemen
