Coming home from work this AM, Im crusing, and poof the head lites blink off then on, the brites were on for about 5 miles. I shut the brites down and still the headlites blinked once or twice more.

Not good coming home at 4AM

Im aware about the fog lite wiring problem, with the headlites, but I havent turned on the fogs, until I get a chance to do the mod that it wont drain too much.

Any and all help is appreciated!!!! [Image: confused.gif]

Weak circuit breaker in the light switch. The self reseting CB inside the light sw. gets weak over time, and trips out at too low a current. A new light switch should cure the problem.

Ok where would I find a switch? It is still a dealer item or ponder the JY?!?!

I think the switches are still available new from Ford (since they arent TC specific parts), but I seem to rememberthey cost big $$, like around $80.

First, the headlight circuit doesnt use a fuse, just the internal circuit breaker in the light switch, so I dont know what fuse you switched out.

Second, putting a larger than original fuse in ANY circuit.... car, house, boat, go-cart, etc, is A BAAAAD IDEA!!!!! Fuses are sized to the gauge of wire in the circuit. Puting in a higher amp fuse is asking for melted wiring and possible a fire. NEVER DO IT!!!!!

It is definitely the headlight switch as somebody said earlier. I had the same exact problem...except the first time it happened was in front of a cop....so yea I got pulled over. Thank god the cop was a cool guy and let me off. But my mechanic said it was the switch b/c the Ford engineers werent too smart. He said that the switch is supplied more voltage than it can handle...and that causes the switch to heat up and short out. Eventually you may have to replace it again. I replaced the switch instead of taking the other root(rewiring my car).

It's the switch dude. I had the same thing 2 months ago. Changed it with a JY switch and it's fine. The switch actually goes bad from the load of the fog lights. If you get a jy switch get it from a non turbo car T-Bird or Cougar one without fogs. Then you know it's going to work.

Is replaciing the switch going to help the fog lite blink problem?!?!? Or is it just a fix for the headlites?!?! [Image: confused.gif]
