Headlights blinking out

Put a relay on the fog lights and it will fix it for good.

I had the head light flashing problem, and had the whole highway doing the speed limit on the way home one night.

They thought I was signaling to warn of cops up ahead. [Image: smile.gif]

When everyone is saying light switch, are they talking about the dimmer switch on the column? That's the switch that I replaced on 3 of the tbirds that I've owned to fix the headlight blinking and fog lights not working problem.

I would put in a relay for both the headlights and foglights and the problem is solved for good. The switch will only turn the relay on and the relay takes the load instead of the switch and inadequate wiring.

I have had 4 TCs and still have 2. There should not be a dimmer on the column. The dimmer is part of the light switch to the left of the column on the dash. Doing the relay for the fogs is good but it's not really needed for the head lights.

No, there IS a dimmer switch in the column dude. You are thinking of the dial type instrument cluster dimmer switch. We are talking about the high/low beam dimmer switch. I had the exact same problem with my lights blinking out randomly, and it too ended up being the dimmer switch in the column. TCs do have a bad problem running foglights and overheating the light circuit. I agree with what others have said, go to the JY and pull a dimmer switch and a headlight switch and it should be one of those two

I knew there was a dimmer switch on the column, I was just trying to clear that up for the guy that you guys were trying to help. Each time I had the lights flashing on and off problem, it has been the fault of the dimmer switch on the column. The plastic is always melted on the back of the switch where the connector plugs in. If you get another one from a junkyard (which I don't recommend), then be sure to get the wiring harness that plugs into too. You may need it if yours is already melted beyond repair.
