UGGGH I just got back from my machine shop and my head is trashed off of my 1987 thunderbird turbo coupe. apparently whoever built the engine used a jegs head or one that has been reworked several times and it is a mess. Does anyone know if a head from a 1982 2.3 ltr non turbo engine work ?

I don't know about the fitment that you are asking about, but I do have a couple of 2.3 turbo heads. One is in the machine shop right now. I am having it cleaned and magnafluxed before I try to sell it. It should be ready, it's been at the shop a few weeks. The other is on a running parts car that I bought from a NATO admin. He said it had been replaced within the last few years. I'll sell one for $300 + shipping. It would be complete with valves and springs.

Look for a late 70's - early 80's 2.3 oval port NA head. Casting number will have a "D9" in it. You may have to drill & tap one extra hole in the D9 head for one intake bolt. Be sure to use the turbo exhaust valves. Since these heads were on NA engines, they are usually not all cracked and beat up.
