Sorry long post
ok so i finnally got the bird to start. after putting the head gasket in. runs great.. ish. so driving it around it seemed fine untill i got on it. than it wanted to die, it kinda just fell on its face then caught back up and started accelerating. some times it'll be just fine but a good majority of the time if i get on it, it will bog. So i put it on a scanner. it picked up a bad tps so i replaced it. no change. another thing is the egr valve i think it is. was leaking and my boost was only hitting about 13 it was hitting 15 before. so i was wondering if i can just completely get rid of the egr?

yes you can. I haven't done it but if you search the forum you should find some info on it. People do it different ways I believe.

Why not just clean the EGR? That could stop a leak, if that is the problem. What makes you think it's the EGR?

because when i put the vacuum tester i made on it the egr valve was leaking and it has a brand new gasket in it. at first i thought it was the tube fitting that was leaking so i put some plumbers tape on it. to no prevail so i wiggled the little shaft inside and it would stop leaking. but that's not my main question right now. what would be causing the bog/cuttout? i'm not worried about the egr right now. just was curios on what i could do about it leaking.

The leaking EGR would cause that. Unmetered air entering the intake would mess up the fuel ratio. I would fix the EGR, or block it off, and go from there. If that don't fix it, then go thru timing/fuel diagnostics. Good luck.

A bog could be a fairly large air leak

alright. deleting the egr valve is it just as easy as pulling it off and blocking both the intake and exhaust holes. or does it go a little deeper than that?

So i'm like 2 ticks away from selling this car. today went to the gas station shut the car off for about 5 minutes. then i get back start it up and it dies almost instantly so i crank it again.. nothing. sounds exactly the same way it did when the head gasket was bad. i'll have it here at home in the next couple hours to compression test it. what could cause a head gasket to go so fast? it never over heated just all the sudden quite. i used the felpro head gasket kit. and the bog i think was a weak fuel pump or a pick up tube that fell off or something? when i have a over a half tank no bog.

What did you do to verify this and what corrective action did you take. Do you hear the FP run briefly when you turn the key to RUN? Maybe you need to run fuel system diagnostics?

yes i do hear it run and i always let it build pressure before i start cranking it. but i haven't verified it yet. i just filled it up yesterday so that was just what i was thinking. if the car was leaning out. would it cause the head gasket to go prematurely? like 4 or 5 days of driving prematurely.
