I got my 1986 automatic running yesterday. She started on the first turn of the key. Like music to my ears

Since its the first automatic I have ever owned, I have a few questions.
1) The car has no brakes. The peddle goes all the way to the floor. It will stop, but I dont want to take any chances. Is this a vacuum issue? What should I be checking.
2) What is safe and normal boost for an auto? 10? 12?
Lastly, I installed a top mount intercooler and havent run vacuum lines in a long time for bone stock setup.
From looking at this diagram.
http://turbotbird.com/faqs/Vac_Diagram.htm
-the fitting at the intercooler goes to vacuum tree and the other port goes to snout of the turbo.
-Stock boost solenoid; one port goes to snout of the turbo and other port on solenoid goes to wastgate actuator
Is all that correct?
3)

if you had no vacuum the pedal would be hard. sounds like a possible master cyl issue.
obviously the fluid is up right?

Fluid to the top, so there is "possibly" no leaks. I did find a big bottle of brake fluid in the trunk, so who knows.

alright next question, what does it do when its not running and you push the pedal. does it still go to the floor?
can you pump up and hold pressure?
i'm wondering if the master cyl is junk.

I think Chris is on the right track here. Sounds like a bad MC to me..... probably bypassing internally.

On the BCS - one hose goes to the snout on the turbo, the other one goes to the T fitting on the compressor housing, on the side of the T with the smaller opening. The other hose on the T fitting goes to the wastegate, on the side of the T with the larger opening.

The auto trans cars have the BCS present, but it doesnt do anything..... it always stays closed, so max boost is determined by the WGA psi. 9 to 9.5 psi. I guess Ford thought it was more cost effective to include the non functional BCS on the auto cars during assembly even though it isnt used.

So I dont really need to connect the boost ports. I can basically cap one side off and just run a line from the turbo port to WG.
Also I have no peddle even when the car is off. I had my daughter pump the brakes while I was listening by each wheel. Didnt hear anything form one of the rear brake cylinders. I bet Ithat is where my problem is. Going to work on it a little bit tomorrow.
