aight so the other night i was drivin a buddy home and he said that he didnt think my car could do doughnuts .. so ofcorse i had to prove him wrong .. and let me tell you what .. she did them like a champ .. but when i finally came to a stop .. she died .. and then wouldnt start .. and was makin a really weird low tone hum .. then when i finally did get it started .. i didnt idle right for a few mins and then ran fine .. ofcorse she was hot .. borderline hot mark .. and ofcorse i still have my header issue .. glows red hot .. any ideas?? i know i probably have a couple problems just dont know where to start .. she runs hot all the time i dont think my colder temp fan is workin .. of mods the only things i really have are boost controller turned up .. maybe to high dont really know only have stock gauge .. cold air "in fender" intake .. and cut exhaust before the mufflers

well, the header glowing red hot usually indicates you are running lean, maybe you have the boost too high.

Running at a high RPM under boost like that with no air passing through your radiator doesn't help.

There is an article in the Technical Articles on checking the fans (87-88)
Same place, there are articles on pulling the codes and also doing some fuel system diagnostics.
It's normal for the exhaust/turbo to glow after hard driving. It shouldn't glow after normal driving.

What is your fuel system set up. I may not even be close on the line of thinking on this one but, I ve been told to make sure you have an adequate fuel system before you turn the boost up. (At least something better than a stock pump which barely was enough stock, Pressure regulator and a fp gauge)
If you increase the air that is being put in the motor you need more fuel to go with it. Atleast thats how it was explained ot me. Any thoughts? ...

All you need now is the pump and you're good to go. If you are getting a front mount IC soon you may want to put something like a Ranger radiator in it now instead of a stock size. That will give you more room to run the piping later and they fit inside the NPR IC's nicely. I used a fan from a small GM Cavalier looking pos. It fit nice and works well.
As for the glowing manifold, you may want to check the cam timing and ign timing and do the fuel system check. Details can be found in the Tech articles.

Another thing I thought of you might want to check is a clogged cat.
