Went ahead and slapped the stock top mount on it today for until I get the plumbing from stinger for my volvo ic. Knocked the boost from about 13psi to about 18psi and MAN what a difference that lil bit makes!!

I'm nervous as all heck when I drive it like this though. Dont know how much longer this lil 185,000 mile turbo and engine will last with that many psi. We'll see I guess Big Grin

i run my 230,000+ motor at 22psi with the .48 t3 and a stinger fmic with some elevated fuel pressure. hasnt missed a beat. i just have to disconnect that stupid over boost buzzer. no audible detonation and the plugs read perfect. youre fine at 18psi. im at 12* btdc timing.

Really? Wow. Which do you think is tougher from ford. The 2.3t 4 cylinder,or the 4.9L 300 straight 6? These lil motors are tough but I've had quite a few 4.9's that we're indestructible.

the 2.3t will support 400 whp and survive well over 300,000 miles. not sure about the other motor. but the 2.3t is pretty much bulletproof if you take care of them.

awesome. So 18psi is about perfect for my current setup? What about when I put my volvo ic on? 12*BTDC and about 20-22psi be alright?

Theres only one way to be 100% sure if your setup will support 20-22psi and thats get yourself a wideband and make sure your A/f ratios are in a good place.
And as for which motor is tougher it depends on wat you mean by tougher the 2.3t is tougher when it comes to holding together with a turbo but those old 300 6's where some stump pulling little bastards whe they had a granny low 4 speed behind them and they will last 300,000+ too easily so really hey both got there strong point and there weak points.

dont see why not. my intercooler is a little more efficient than yours. you have to remember im running a boblog and a 3" exhaust, so the chances of me detonating at the same boost levels as you is much less, esp since im running more fuel pressure as well. i would say stick to 18-20 psi and factory timing until you can get some better exhaust components and a way to ensure youre not leaning out (ie wideband and fpr.)

You know, over on the right side by the hood hinge you can find the overboost switch, and turn it up with the screw on the bottom so it doesn't set your buzzer off.

Need to update my signature...Car has stinger's full single 3" exhaust and 3" dp on it already Big Grin Have had the walbro 255 sitting at the house since last summer too. Plan on buying a kirban AFPR when I buy the piping for my volvo ic and slapping that fuel pump on it all at the same time.
