I went to a junkyard yesterday and managed to get two trip computers, both from 84 or 85 Birds. I actually saw a third in an LTD, but the windshield was out and the dash was soaked.
The wiring in both went into the main loom, with no harness in sight. I looked at an 86 TC that had the standard digital clock, and it went to a harness that had two extra wires (the speed sensor and EEC data wires, I assume). I thought it would be a cinch to connect because the wires are already there, but my 88 does not have this connector! The digital clock just goes directly into the main loom.
I have it wired up except for the speed sensor/EEC data wires, and it works great. It has a clock, calendar, elapsed time, miles traveled, average speed, instant mpg, average mpg, and gallons of fuel used.
Now I just need to hook up those last two wires. I need EEC pin 34--I don't know where to start counting on the connector, so what is this wire's color? Also, if anyone knows the color of the speed sensor wire or where it is, that would be very helpful. I plan on tapping into the gauge cluster's wiring since I know it uses the speed sensor, but I don't have a pinout for that connector.
