Global West Seat Braces For Their Subframe Connectors

Hey guys. I spoke with a Tech Rep from Global West today. I was talking to him about their subframes and the possibility of them making seat braces for their subframes that are designed to fit our TBirds. They already offer seat braces for Mustangs, but not TBirds. He said that he could see that happening if there was enough interest in seat braces for our cars. I told him about this forum and the other forum where guys with TBirds and Cougars hang out. If I remember correctly, he said that if he could sell 10 to 20 braces, they could probably make them for us.

He expressed an interest in becoming a sponsor here. I'd like to direct him to this thread to show him that we really would like to be able to buy seat braces from them for our cars to go with their subframes. If you'd be interested in buying seat braces from Global West for their SFC's, this thread would be a good place to let it be known. After the reviews I've been getting from guys who have installed their full-length subframe connectors, I'd really like to be able buy seat braces from them to go with the subframes I'm gonna buy from them.

I'm gonna start this off by saying I'd buy a set of seat braces! That's 1 set sold. Anyone else want to buy a set? The seat braces they make for Mustangs are $40.68 on their website. I can't see seat braces for our cars costing much more than that.

Anyone else interested in a set?

I would be in if they are combined with the subframe connectors.

i always make my own. i have never liked other guys' subframe connectors. they are usually too thin, hang too low, don't fit right or all of the above.

Well, they already sell subframes for our cars. I've been working on them starting to manufacture seat braces. It looks fairly promising that they will, but I haven't gotten a definite answer yet. From what I understand, they want to be able to sell at least 10 sets before they'll commit to making seat braces to go with their SFC's.

None of your concerns apply to their SFC's. They're full-length units for one. As far as your concerns about being low profile, their subframes run BESIDE the frame rails instead of below them like most SFC's. You can't get lower profile than that.

As far as strength goes, their made of roll bar tubing, so strength isn't an issue either. The fact that their made of roll bar tubing instead of box tubing like most other SFC's means they resist torsional forces better than box tubing does. As I'm sure you know, twisting forces are what subframes are supposed to stop.

I can't see you having any fitment issues unless your car has structural issues, or something. T

Their subframes DO cost $200 though. That might scare some people off, but I don't think you'll find subframes on the market that are engineered as well as these are though.
