Gillis valve question

You may want to check your hoses to be sure they are unobstructed. If something has gotten inside a hose and is blocking it, the Gillis Valve will not be able to work. Just unplug the new hoses and blow through them to be sure they are free flowing.

Dummy me...I had a brain fart...

The reason I said no boost pressure went to the vac tree is because I had just installed a vac gauge to the vac tree and had been watching the readings. I had maintained a constant 19Hg at idle. Opening the TB the vac dropped and then picked back up...

But guess what I forgot ? The whole time I was doing this it had NO LOAD on the engine...Hummm, what was that about not being able to build boost pressure without a load...duh !

Sorry for the confusion.

To Jeff and all that can help,

Do you still have it that way? I have the Gillis valve hooked up that way also (I think?), I haven't tried hooking it up the way that the directions say to. I have it hooked up from one of the nipples on the compressor housing (and pluged the other nipple) to the inlet of the Gillis valve and then from the outlet of the valve to the wastegate. Is this the way you have it? If that isn't right I was thinking of spliting the vac. hose on my Bosch Bypass Valve, running a tee in between it and run a hose from that tee to the inlet of the Gillis Valve, and a hose form the outlet of the Gillis Valve to the wastegate. Are both of these ways good? or any good at all? or should I just follow the directions that come with the Gillis Valve?

IMO these two ways keep the vac. lines as short as possible.

Thanks,

Either way should work.

Yup, still connected that way. I did want to keep the lines as short as possible. Works great. No boost spiking, surge, creep, etc.
