Alright the nightmare continues parked car for two weeks due to a turbo issue anywho fixed it now gas gauge doesn't work oil pressure and water temp doesn't won't move has anybody ever run into this before I checked fuses relays low fuel relay box in pass kick panel nothing I finally jumped two wires across and gas, oil, and water temp started working until it gets in the 1/4 tank area then it pegs oil and water gauges I realize that that pegging problem is my fault but since I jumped wires but why would my gauges not have fire on the oil/water side if the sending unit went bad and why would would I be able jump across if the sending unit went bad? any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Most likely a problem with the IVR (instrument voltage regulator) or the resistance wire that feed it. Located on the back of the guage pod

You can find more info in past posts. You can also buy the original style IVRs from Ford

I had that problem a couple of times. When I first bought my car. It turned out to be a disconnected 4-pin connector right by the intake manifold. After that, the IVR went out.

also, check the gy/y at the ign switch for batter voltage at the switch as well as at pin 7 at the cluster plugin. Mine was burnt at the swtich, I replaced the IVR while I was there as well. I also had a burnt spot on my printed circuit board on the back of the cluster.

Might want to consider building a solid state IVR to eliminate these problems for good.... see the tech articles.

Same problem, and coincidentally it started today. I replaced my ign switch a couple of months ago and everything was fine until now. The gauges don't work but the brakes are fine and so is the climate control. Very timely post. I suppose I should say thanks.
