Gas filler neck seal

The filler neck seal on my '88 TC leaks. The part is obsolete at Ford. At least that is what I was told. This is becoming a hazard with leaking gas and gas fumes.

I assume you mean where the filler neck goes into the tank. If so, I cant believe it is obsolete..... if I remember correctly, it has a D0xx part number, meaning it was first put into service in 1970, and was used on millions of Ford cars over the years. I suggest trying another dealer and see what they say. Might also try NAPA, etc.
