I was surprised, I thought my car was faster than it says ( MUST be wrong : rolleyes : ). I got a 16.08 spinning halfway through first, but that was my fastest. When I got traction, it bogged pretty bad and usually runs 16.40s.

I really thought that I would be in the middle 15s. I have only run it a couple times, with some practice, I'm sure I can dip into 15s, but they will still be very high 15s.

I got mine and it seems ok. I made a few runs, best was a 15.35 followed by a 15.95 (bad take off) and 15.47. I just put my ported e6 on today and I have not made any runs with it. Ty

I have 87 tc, k&n on vam, gillis 17 psi, sac mustang dp 3" super turbo dumped before the rear axle, and now a ported e6. The little driving I did today the car feels alot smoother and stronger with the e6. I hope to be in the low low 15s. From the tech articles a stock 87-88 tc runs a 16.8. So around a 16 flat is still a good improvment. Ty

Natmac bought one and we set it up on my 87 TC. Seemed to work good for us ...16.8 with engine hesitating under heavy boost[20+]next try with feathering throttle and came up with 15.8 with 18-19 lbs. boost...if nothing else it's a good tool for cking the mods and the improvements [or not] they make...money well spent for us...just can't seem to get to local track that much anymore...

We need to all hit Cecil County next spring. I used my G-tech to time a 16.4 at 84.5mph. This was in a co-workers bone stock 2002 Neon.

Yeah, mine is stock except for a K&N and gillis valve. I think the worst thing on my car is the stock 2 1/4 to 1 7/8 exhaust.

The one thing to remember when using your G-tech is that it's only as accurate as the variables you test in.

Always test on as close to level ground as possible. Always test from an absolutely dead stop. Always test on the same stretch. Always run at least 3-5 times and average the results.

This will ultimately yeild the most accurate readings...

I have done a lot of tuning with the g-tech. There is one very helpful feature if used consistently. The Hp setting. I have used the Hp setting for performance tuning. I have found that its results are more consistent than using the qtr setting. I put it on the Hp setting and roll very slowly off the line till I hit 3,000rpm. I then go to WOT till I hit the shift light (@6500) go to 2nd and then let it carry all the way to my rev limiter which is set at 6800rpm. I then record the hp reading. I do 2 runs that way and record the results. The run back is usually a little larger then the first. I then make changes in timing, jetting, etc and record the results. Now you have to be consistent in your driving style other wise you are wasting time. I have used this method with many vehicles and found it to be very helpful. About the only thing it wont tell you is if you running flat at the top of the track. But with that method you can do a lot on a fairly short street. I have also run the g-tech vs the track. Results do very between g-techs, but mine was usually within 3-4 mph (g-tech was always higher) and within .2 to .3 (both higher and lower than the track) in the quarter. My application is a sbc in an automatic car. In stick applications is varies a little more. Monte
