I decided to go with a round tooth belt on my daughters car because I read that they are less likely to slip and are quiet. Well I went to the local parts store and picked up a 95 Ranger belt timing belt, thinking all 2.3 rangers use the same size belt. IT WAS TO LONG!! Make sure you get the 93-94 ranger timing belt. Its shorter and its the correct length.

Autozone Part Number: 95210 Correct
Correct Length (in): 48.39"

95 belt is wrong Length (in) 49.14 in" To long

haha, i figured this out the hard way. Had a new belt lying around from my old 2.3T motor out of my merkur and was rebuiding my ranger motor. took me almost two hours to figure out the difference between the belts and why my motor kept jumping time... boy i can be honest and say i dont remember how many beers it took me before i realized my mistake. simply swapped all the square tooth stuff over since i wanted to be cheap haha.
