FYI ..... .24 is not a good gap!

I had a boost problem. I couldn't boost past 10 lbs without the car bogging down. ... turns out the previous owner gapped the plugs at .24. I regapped them to .28. .... Problem Solved!!!! :-)

I run my NGK 2238 plugs at .032, and have no problems at 24 psi boost. I do run an MSD E core coil. While it has questionable reliability, the Ford TFI ignition system produces a good strong spark.

I believe the stock gap recommended is .034", at least that's what I always used when my ignition system was stock.

With an MSD 6AL and Blaster coil, I gap my plugs at .045" and it runs great - smoother than it ever ran with the stock ignition system.

Just my 2¢ worth. Confusedmokin:

I have gapped mine as tight as .018" before. It currently is at .020". I'm running just under 30psi with E-85 and even with my MSD coil and MSD 6530 box, I wonder if I could even run much more.
I know its not apples to apples..

So the more fuel pressure and boost you have the smaller the gap on the plug?

The higher the cylinder pressure, the harder it is for the spark to jump. Fuel pressure has nothing to do with it.
