I checked my oil and noticed that there is a smell of fuel from it. I think my EGR solenoid switch is not working thus not bleeding out excess heat and fumes. Do you think this is the cause of the smell?
Aaaaaannndd does anyone know the part number for the EGR solenoid switch or is this something else Frod decided not to make.

I don't have the part # you want but I do have a suggestion. Check your fuel pressure regulator. I don't have an egr valve and I don't have that smell.
Also run the codes if you have not yet.

Sold my Turbocoupe. It went to a good home.

I've run codes and I only get the code for the IAC cicuit fault. I've check all around for this fix but can't figure that one out.

I'm with Wes, I doubt that it's EGR related.
Pluu the codes. Also could be a stuck injector letting too much fuel in when it's running or letting fuel in and down past the rings when the engine is off.

It was code 81. That's the only one showing. Air diverter solenoid fault , intake air control cicuit fault , air inection diverter

My scanner books lists 81 as:
1. Thermactor (doesn't apply)
2. IAC circuit failure
3. Electro drive fans circuit failure
4. boost control solenoid circuit failure.

Do your cooling fans work like they should and is your factory BCS still connected electrically?

My BCS is not connected and my cooling fans are officially replaced 'cause they were seized solid. The relay works when it wants to. I've got a manual switch rigged up.

Is the car giving out any dark smoke that might indicate too rich/unburned fuel?

What kind of driving do you do. Long trips or short hops. Lots of short distance driving with no longer trips where the oil gets hot enought to let gas and water vaporize is going to result in gas and water buildup in the oil.

You could put a FP gauge on it, Turn the key on so the pump builds up pressure and then see how fast the pressure drops. The factory spec is not more than a 2 psi drop in 3 minutes. If it drops significantly faster than that, it's either the check valve in the pump, the regulator or a leaky injector.

Pete I do lots of short hops but almost every weekend I go to a car show out of town that is at least a 1hr drive. I see no dark smoke at start up or driving either. I have an A/F guage that shows stoich most of the time and already have a pressure guage on the rail. I'll have to check the pressure drop as you suggested.
Although all the short hops I do sounds like a viable explenation.
Thanks , Bob
