Fuel Pump

Well I finally have to change the fuel pump. I was going to work today and the motor just died. Tried to re-start it but no go. Could not hear the pump run when turning on the key so waited about 30 minutes and tried again and still couldn't hear it. Grounded out the test connector and heard the relay click but still no pump while listening with the trunk open. Tried to see if any pressure at all at the fuel rail and the fuel just barely came out the schader valve. Waited 3 hours for flat bed truck. Got home dropped the tank and pulled the pump and then ground out the test connector again (yes both times with the key on) the pump started running so I slowly put it came into the tank and as it started to suck up gas it slowly staopped in about 10 seconds. Justed ordered a 255hp w/kit (FPF021)from APE. Jd didn't say what their kit had with it so that is why I went with APE. Had no problems dropping the tank. Must say I was a little worried after all the stories I have seen here.

Not sure on the APE kit but the JD's kit was a perfect fit, including the pick-up screen...everything was just as Ford had made it 22 years ago, on mine.

Well I got emails from APE saying card billed and product shipped and then an hour later a one saying bad news that they don't have the kit. So I called them and they say it was a typo error on their part for the kit number and that they are backed ordered on the kit I need. So I asked just what did you ship and he said they shipped nothing. I asked did you bill the card and he said no. I just checked and they sure did bill my card. I will be calling Ron tomorrow and raising cane with him about it. I just got done ordering the pump and kit from JD. I am hoping that they don't have a typo error also. I all I can say is that I do not plan on ordering anything from APE again.
