Base pressure should be 39psi with the vac line disconnected.

so that means that i disconnect the vac line, turn the screw till the guage reads 39 psi, then reconnect and im good, right? i can then turn up the boost, and more boost will allow more fuel right?

Boost much past 17-18 psi may require base pressure to be set somewhat higher than 39 psi.

well, i have a stock ihi, cone filter, 155 lph pump, stock dp and cat, afpr, guage, and gillis. im looking to run 18 psi at the track tomarrow, 14 at all other driving times. what should the base pressure be set at? is 39 ok? and if i go to like 41, will i lose gas mileage? this is my driver and id like to get at least 20 mpg. if this is unrealistic please let me know.
thanks,
moller
btw, after setting it at 39, she runs alot better than she ever did. even if your not modding your t/c i would recommend this thing for all applications. including stock, even if just for smoother operation.
thanks again

the above post was me, on daves computer btw
umm and one more thing with the mods i listed, waht timing should i run, ive got it at 14 because someone said that 14 would help for heat, but i corrected the heat issue, and now i dont see the point.
im thinking 12 is the norm for most cars here, but not sure with my mods what would be best.

Timing is something you have to play with. I've found that mine doesn't like more than 13-14 but I got the A237 cam which is a different animal. Anything more that that kills low and mid range which is already suffering enough with the cam. Kill gas mileage too.
I have heard of people running 14-16 on stock cams but never tried back when. You got to watch out for detonation when you push that much timing and turn up the boost in summer heat. Don't just assume you can set it and forget it. Work your way up slowly

so at the track on friday i should try 12, 13, 14, 15 and see what runs the best?
is 14 a safe place to start, all things being equal?
if so, i might push it back to 13, becuase it seems ive lost a little top end when i went to 14. is this backwards?
oh well thanks
