Just curious if anyone knows if other Thunderbird's of the same year or adjacent years but different engines use the same fuel level sending unit mines an 86 tc and I've seen other tbirds like 84 or 85 that I contemplate using for a parts car

The sender out of a Tempo/Topaz fits and works perfectly, but AFAIK, they are no longer available. Could always use a universal fit Ford sensor (10 ohms full, 73 ohms empty), available from numerous vendors online, and adapt it to your existing sender bracket.

If I were to get one of those would it already be set up for 10 ohms full and 73 ohms empty?
I was wondering about the interchangeability of the other engined birds because there's a local 86 tbird that a guy is parting out
As always your help is greatly appreciated Jeff!

If you get a generic level sensor assy, be sure it is speced out at 10 ohms full, 73 to 75 ohms empty. They come with adjustable floats that will fit any depth tank. To use the TC mounting flange would require some fab, like cutting off the flange the generic sender and attaching it to the TC flange (weld it, bolt it together.
Not sure but I think the 86 tank is different than the 87-88 tank, which doesnt matter anyway, as OEM 87-88 senders are no longer available.
