Still having fuel issues and the weather hasnt really been much of a help this week. First I has having a problem with gunk in my gas tank cloggin my strainer and fuel filter.

Well, I dropped the tank last week and steam cleaned it inside and out. Put it back in, popped on a new filter and strainer. It drove good for a few minutes but is now having trouble keeping pressure up.

At idle it produces about 24psi, it will maintain and drive good as long as I stay out of the boost but will develop somewhere around 42psi at most under load.

Does this sound like a AFPR problem or is it possible that I still had some gunk left over in my lines and its clogged up my new filter?

My suggestion would be running the fuel system diagnostics and find out what it is.

sounds like the gunk ruined the pump.

Pulled the pump again. Looks like the steam cleaning didnt do its job as the bottom of the tank was coated with crap again and the strainer was clogged again. Pulled the tank on the 87 parts car, same thing.

Im thinking the pump is OK.
Ordered a new tank from Rockauto for $120 so this shouldnt be a problem anymore.
