Hi Guys,
Last week I did a complete tune-up on my 1988 TC with 146K on it. The car runs real well..but even with a New and Correct PCV in place I'm still noting a slight oil leak.
While trying to chase this oil leak source , I disconnected the K&N Filter bracket from the R/ fender well to be able to see that side of the engine bay better. While this was out of the way...I looked down and saw a hose coming from the top of the Charcoal Filter Cannister that's about the same diameter of a heater hose. This hose is connected to nothing but does have a factory style clamp on the end with a metalic push on fitting for ease of connecting to another hose.
My Hayne's manual is useless in regards to locating the mating point...and I have not had time to get the car up in the air to trace it for myself.
Got any ideas?...or a good source for the missing parts?

since you have a K&N the line used to go to the filter box. The K&N doesnt have a spot for that. My hose was removed. You can plug it without any problems if you want.
Wheres the oil leak coming from?

The oil leak source is very much uncertain. I've noticed droplets appearing on the top of the Inter=Cooler while the car is at idle...and it looks a bit grungy around the oil level sensor that goes into the drivers side of the oil pan.
I also noted a slight puddle developing on the top area of the lower intake manifold between the runners of the #2 and #3 ports.
I have not ruled out a Cam Sprocket seal...or the VC gasket ..but the VC Gasket seems to be the least likely.
The oil pressure sending unit was replaced last week...with No defects noted.
Thanks for the insight on the Fuel Cannister Trashline...That had me worried for nothing it seems

oil sitting on the lower intake.. 99% sure it is a valve cover. spend the money for the ranger gasket steel internals and can be reused 100 times.
Oil on or in the intercooler? on it is really wierd and have never heard of it. In chances are your getting pressureized air into the crankcase and it is pushing it out the VC breather into the intake track. Or the baffle inside the VC is gone throwing oil out the hole.
Do a search on oil leaks you will get 500 posts b/c 2.3L are very common with leaks.

Trashline...The droplets of oil that are appearing on the top of the Inter-Cooler seem to be getting slung on there from the rotation of the belts.
I'll look into the gasket tomorrow

Oil on the IC, take alook at the cam shaft bolt and the front seal for the cam.
I'd vote for the VC gasket for the oil on the intake

NAPA sells standard pumps. I don't have that PN. What other PNs do you need?

The P/N for the Cam Seal and the Top Grade and make of the VC Gasket.
Pete...is the NAPA Pump good stuff? I have a NAPA Warehouse/store on my way home from the airport...that would be ideal , if their stuff passes muster?

Valve cover gasket: Ranger item, PN F57Z-6584-A
Cam seal. don't have a PN, I get them at NAPA (same as front main seals and auxillary shaft seal)
I'm using NAPA supplied water pump and oil pump in my car. I been buying parts at NAPA for many years.
