Front springs broken, won't pass inspection.

With the coming of the nice weather here in the northeast, I was really looking forward to getting the bird inspected and taking it for a drive. Well, as it would happen, a leaky steering rack and a couple of broken springs are keeping me from enjoying my car.

So my question is this. I have searched the topic and haven't come up with a definitive answer as to which springs I should get for the front. (The back as of yet are still in one piece) I have searched summit and what they're telling me will work is the MOG-8606.

Not that I doubt they are right but...well ok I doubt anyone but the people on this website are right about the TC, people just don't understand. I guess my problem is that all the other cars that are listed that these will work for. I know alot of parts for the TC were for the TC and no other car, and I just don't have faith that any information that I get, besides here, is good.

I also found from a post (Joecool) these: HYP27512250 (part number from Maximummotorsports.com but have no experience with coil overs, and not sure if these would work outside of a kit which includes struts (my prc's seem to work fine and don't have the $$ to replace them anyway).

A bit more info: I have a 1988 TC, which never leaves firm setting, It's basically a joy rider which I wouldnt mind making into a DD (my xterra is really no fun in the summer).

I want to make this car good mechanically and upgrade when I can (make it handle well without too harsh of a ride..kind of like it is in firm setting).

So, any advice would be HUGELY appreciated, help me make up my mind so I can get this itch scratched (to drive my favorite car ever).

Thanks in advance!

(BTW the username came from my other TC which unfortunately ended up being mostly rotted away underneath and was an 87...but I kept parts yay!)

The Maximum Motorsport springs must be used with a coil-over kit and your looking at about $1100 in the suspension to go that route.

Most of the V8 mustang front springs will work on the front. The problem with using mustang springs is the lower spring rates in the rear. They just cant handle our girl's big booty.

I have a set of front springs on the cheap that im not using. They came off of my 88 with 100K on them when I went coil-over. Still have the polyurethane spring isolators on them.

I'm actually buying the pair from Huey for now, when the money allows I plan on going coil-overs.
