I'm looking to replace the stock PRC and am considering coilover's for the front. Does anyone know if they make ones that fit the TC's? My stock set-up has about 1" in between the strut and the tire. i want to put on wider tires, but am conserned that I won't have enough room to do so with coilovers. Anyone with coilovers, let me know what you think. If I don't go with coilovers, my only other option is a set of new moog springs and KYB shocks, but I would prefer something stiffer. Any ideas would be appreciated. The car will be used on the street and maybe some SCCA racing down the road.

Take a look at Maximum Motorsports or Griggs racing...both have websites and that's the best route...putting on coil-overs is a good solution....but the front-end will be lowered if you use mustang struts...

HERE is a thread on how I put front coil-overs on my 87 with Bilstein Mustang struts.

Not necessarily true; depends on how you adjust the coil-over springs and perches. I only lowered mine by 1/2" but could have easily lowered it not at all.

Not yet. Still a lot of research to do before I decide. It will have coil-overs, Bilstein shocks, probably a panhard bar, maybe a torque arm. Maybe...
Then again... hmmm. Really not sure yet.

I'm in the middle of a coilover conversion using koni shocks/struts. 350 lbers in front and 250 lb springs in the rear, with 275/40-17 tires all around. It's definitely tight in places, but it appears that everything will work. If you are anywhere near northern IL, you are welcome to come over and check the progress.
Over the weekend I made some brackets that push my front fenders out, allowing the front wheels to turn. I attached them to the lower part of the frame rail then to the front lower part of the fender. This was the before pic, that I posted I week or two ago in my k-member/coil-over thread:

So you guys haven't had any tire fitment issues in regards to the coil-overs?
I looked at MM and they don't list anything for the TC's. I was hoping that I could just do a strut & coil-over swap without messing with any of the control arms or K-member.
From what I understand, the Mustang struts are physically shorter than the TC's??
I'm not sure what ride height I will end up with, and coil-overs sound like a good choice so I can get exactly the height I want.
I'm not sure what wheel & tires I plan on using, but I'd like to have the Cobra-R's. I want to keep the tires tucked in the wheel wells so I'm not sure how wide I can go and was concerned that the coil-overs would rub on the tires. I've never seen coil-overs installed. Is the spring on the top of the strut or bottom?

Zero issues in three years. All the MM stuff I used is Mustang specific, but it all bolted right in and worked perfectly. Springs are near the top of the strut, exact position adjusts as you raise and lower your car and also depends on the spring length you use. Struts shorter? Not 100% certain but I don't think so; however Mustang rear shocks are about two inches shorter and will not work properly unless you modify your lower shock mounts. Chuck W on this board makes some great mounts that work well. I've go pics on my web page of tire fitment, link in my sig. HTH

So if you put mustang coilovers on a tc what will happen with the auto ride control? Will I still work or will I lose the ride control? I like the idea of it being lower but when I get on it I would like it to stiffen up for the better handleing. I am not realy worried about wheel and tire cause I am use the fatory pony 5 star wheels. Even with it lower I don't see a problem with useing them. Let me know what you thing.

No you will not be able to use the ride control. If you want a lower ride just get a set of springs made 1" lower and install them.
