Hello, my 88 is ready for restoration. The frame rails are rotten but mounts and else where are solid (mostly rotted at suspension connection). Can I use mustang frame rails? They are the same platform with the fox chassis but are front frames the same? Of so I'm ordering the kit today so they have it to start haha. Thanks

Any info? Every time this happens to the cars everyone can't be scrapping them right?

they're not the same but i'm sure someone with a little fabricating skills can make them work.

How different are they? Any help would be great. I was told they are the same so that would have been bad. Or is it a good starting point?

I don't know of anyone trying this before. I remembered seeing a post about it not too long ago, but after searching I found that was your post as well... I would say you'd be the guinea pig on this one, but I'm sure they'd be a better starting point than starting from scratch.

Ok I guess I'm going to be the test dummy. I want my car back and maybe it will save other peoples car. Was hoping someone else did it though.

it will work fine , if you look at a shock tower with the frame rail , and see all those holes every where , to be used on all different Fox cars . Its a big job . You may want to think on cost of repair and buying a rust free Bird on the West coast. Just my 10 cents worth ........DW

I'm on east coast so it's a long trip. My cousin who owns a shop built a 3 car garage and work shop in his back yard. He loves cars and that's all he does. He said 1000 to do it with my help and I supply parts. He's also done that job on a mustang already at his shop. I'm hoping everything goes ok.

The Mustang and Mark VII are awful close but aren't exactly the same. You might have to drill a couple of holes but it should work.
