I just finished changing drivers side axle (not so good used went in...LONG story will be good used in a day or two)to my surprize I found a rubber Oring in the C clip slot of the axle??? First time I saw that! Anyone else ever find one there? I will be replacing bent and damaged rims in a few minuets and then trying to align this thing...hope its close...told my son an insurance company would have TOTALED the car...fixing it would be close to $3K...he didnt take that too well!

I've found the O-rings on axle ends before. I guess it gets rid of some of the play.

The O rings are supposed to be there. The take up some slack, and cushion the axle as it moves in/out slightly when loaded during turns.
