Has anyone else noticed that there is times when this forum is slow to load? I know I've reported this issue a few times in the past, which Chris R usually finds a problem with his provider. To me, it looks like the packet loss issue is back:

You can see there is 3% packet loss reported near the server end.

Maybe the packet loss is from you guys pinging it all the time. Smile

Please remove the ping software from hitting my server, or I will block your IP address.

I will check and verify connection this afternoon.

Thanks,
Chris

That is about the only way to determine if the performance issue is due to packet loss, and if so, where it's occurring. Packet loss could occur anywhere between the computer and the server.

In this example, it shown it's on your end. So we know who to complain to Smile

Chris, I rarely ping your server unless issues like this are present. I'm not, and have not, been pinging your server since.

I only pinged it in that example because I thought the forum's performance may have been related to a packet loss issue - largely because we've had this issue a few times. It's probably been at least a year since I last pinged your server because there was another packet loss issue on NATO's message forum:
http://natomessageboard.com/cgi-bin/ulti...9;t=000103

In fact that was the only example I could find, on 2/22/05 and then again a month later. It was determined that it indeed was on your end. It looks like unless I ran those tests and reported the issue, it may not have been identified and resolved as quickly?

If you want to block my IP address over a few harmless ICMP requests (small packets), I'll just get a new IP address from the same provider, or another provider Smile Just joking here, I hope.
