Unfortunately these pumps are designed to be used with a GM engine in a car with a Mustang rack.
Lost of work to convert them to a Ford application.

I think the next best thing is to have the pump rebuilt locally.
Talked to them yesterday and it does look promising.
They said one of the problems with the over the counter rebuilds is they just clean the pumps and install new bearing and seals.
If you have bad hard parts the pumps will make noise.
They can completely rebuild the pump but the cost is in the $200 range, but,, I guess you get what you pay for.
My driveway looks like the Valdez,,,can`t keep fliud in the pump,,,

Do you have a good O-ring seal between the pump and reservoir? I think this was where my old one was leaking from.. had same problem - Lots of ps fluid all over the place. New pump, new O-ring, same reservoir and hoses and now no leaks.

This is the third rebuilt pump with the same problem!
I don`t think the company that rebuilds them has any kind of quality control.
I do believe that is where the problem lies though, at that seal,,,

I use the mustang pump with the resivor on the pump. Then i eliminate the remote resivor. Serves two purposes. It works much better and there are plenty around the junk yard. And it gives more room for fromt mount plumbing. Tom

What do you mean by JR ? And what is the front mount plumbing?

I ntalked to a counter person I know and she said that it is common that you will have to buy 3 or 4 pumps before you find one that works and doesn`t leak!
Thats a bummer as far as I`m concerned!!

I also have a freind that has a good low mile used one I`ll try next.
What the f***,,,

I bought a ford replacement from AGR. They make/reproduce steering pumps for race applications. They use tighter tolerances than stock spec, and so far my pump is quiter than any ford pump of that design i know of. I thought about retrofitting a "TC" pump as the tech refered to it as. Basically it is a GM style pump, he promised that one wouldn't ever make noise.
