i was wondering if anybody has a older motorsports book showing the injectors that they sold for the turbo 2.3 engines and what there rated at and the info for them, color of the plastic body and impedence.

reason i ask is that i have a set of light grey top inj's that are supposed to be rated at 42lb hr.impedence measures at 2.5 ohms and sold by FMS.

is there anybody that can confirm this or help me to identify these.

thanks
Mike

Check the link for a list of stock injectors on Ford cars. The grey ones are 52pph from a CFI 5.0. Check the part number to see if this is what you have.

i dont have a part # and the only info i have is that they were sold by FMS as upgrade inj's for the 2.3 turbo's,and i know that they are not 52lb because im having problems setting them at 42lb with the tuner.

As a possible last resort, why not send them off to be cleaned / flow-tested? That way you'll know they're all in good shape, and you'll know precisely what they flow at a given fuel pressure.

Mike,

My Motorsport book collection goes back to 1984 and I don't ever remember FMS ever offering an injector kit for the 2.3 turbo engines.

So I went through every book and here is a list of injectors that they have offered along with the first year that it appeared in the catalog.

M-9593-A302 24 lb/hr 1992
M-9593-B302 30 lb/hr 1994
M-9593-C302 19 lb/hr 1994
M-9593-D302 36 lb/hr 1995
M-9593-E302 150 lb/hr 2000
M-9593-F302 42 lb/hr 2001

I can't help you on the colors or impedance though as the FMS books doesn't say.

someone educate me
the TC's are high impedance?
what's the normal ohm signal reading?

TCs use low impedance injectors with "peak and hold" drivers in the EEC. Without writing a book on the subject, the drivers basically act as current sinks. Injector resistance is about 2.3 ohms.

Most Fords, like 5.0s, use high impedance injectors with "saturation" drivers in the EEC. The drivers are basically voltage sinks. Injector resistance is about 12 to 14 ohms.

You can test high imp. inj. by momemtairly connecting them to a 12v batt, but NEVER try to test low imp. inj. by connecting them to a 12V batt, or you will burn them out almost instantly.
