My original price for the car is $1500 OBO.
Well, I have received no offers. What would my car be worth to a T.C. member ? I'm at the point of calling the wrecker !!!! How can the cars be "worth" so much to the members yet when they go up for sale your lucky to get a few hundred dollars for it. Not to sound bitter, but after buying it for $2500, brakes were $700, tires were $400, numerous seals, fuel pumps, filters, sensors, computer, MAF, distributor, injectors etc..... for over $800, numerous shops for $500 plus....lets see , I,m close to $5000 and I can't even get an offer....What is it worth ? frustarated in Calif

I understand your frustration, and I am sure that the car is worth it. Perhaps if you post photos of the car? Have you tried the turboford website? I would hate to see your car parted out....
I just want my Bird back!

Boy do I know what you mean, I just purchased my TC in September for $1,500. Replaced the clutch $350, Replaced stock Exhaust with Flowmasters $300 and have along list of things I want to do but I question the wisdom of putting $5,000 or more into a car that retains a value in this area of between $1,000 to $2,500. I realy like the car but I will have to drive it til the cows come home. Well dang I'm just going to keep the baby and fix it up. It sure a lot less money then a new car and a lot more fun.

Personally, I think these cars are collector's cars on a personal level...
If you get one and plan to do a shit load of stuff to them just to sell them, your gonna lose your ass. BUT, if you get one plan on keeping it forever, then you will get every penny put into it beck in the pleasure of owning the car!
Some people buy one thinking they'll love the car, but find out that they are just too tempermental. This is true, they ARE tempermantal and you have to love the car & plan a future with it or your just wasting your time & money.
Just look at my car (Tim Jones in the showroom), I'll never get the money out of the car that I have put into it!! I know that, but I have had the car for 4 years and would like to own it forever. Although, I will sell it if the price is right, I know that the price will never be right! hehe
Anyway, that's just my 2 cents on the subject.

Old cars just require a lot of maintenance, and these vibrate everything loose; but we LOVE'EM. But to most people they're just a PITA. Got mine for 1K almost 2 yrs ago, thought it was a bargain(but I do most of my own repairs). It's probably still worth what I paid, but what heck!
Where is La Mirada? I stopped in Little Rock, Ca a few weeks ago to check out an 88 with no engine or trans - Dude, the guy was set on $750 "firm"! I drove away - firm

So far I have owned 2 TC's. I had a 88 I bought for $650 but caught fire. Had a 86 I bought for $500 with only 60,000 miles on it and sold it to pay for my mustang project-what a mistake. These cars are for the few and far between who have had the opportunity to drive one. These cars were ahead of their time and only the true mechanic can appreciate them [Image: smile.gif]
